Today’s labor market reports

1. The Conference Board reported this morning that online advertised vacancies rose in January by 106,900 to 5,044,700. The January increase in online labor demand followed a gain of 217,900 in December, and brings online advertised vacancies to the highest level ever.

2. According to ADP’s report today, private sector employment in the US increased by 192,000 jobs in January, which was the 35th consecutive month of private sector job growth starting in February 2010, and brings private sector payrolls to the highest level since November 2008, more than four years ago.
