3. The prices for generators in north New Jersey being offered for sale on Craigslist seem to have come down significantly. As I reported last Sunday on CD, there were more than 600 generators listed for sale in New Jersey on Craigslist at that time, and most were selling for more than $1,000. Now a week later, almost all of the prices are below $1,000 and some are listed for as low as $349, with others listed at $399, $450, $599, etc. So it appears that the initial “shortage” of gas generators and high prices may have attracted so many generators to north New Jersey that there is now a generator glut and prices are dropping. Just wondering, if some of these generators are now being sold below retail – will the sellers be charged with generator “dumping”?
